CENTRAL WEST END APARTMENTS
CLIENT: Village Green Property Management
LOCATION: St. Louis, MO
PROJECT SCOPE:
For the Central West End Apartments, we proposed a monument sign and an internally lit canopy sign. The monument sign was designed and fabricated as a custom painted aluminum structure, with custom fabricated metal letters used for the large “CWE” lettering. The “City Apartments” featured push-through acrylic letters and a custom cut fleur de lis shape at the top of the form.
The canopy sign was custom fabricated with molded polycarbonate that are face and edge lit on the “CWE” letters. The LEDs were used to display a soft, white glow for the lettering. Because of the overall size of the “CWE” lettering, it provided enough illumination that “City Apartments” could remain non-illuminated which cut down costs. The “CWE” letters were mounted on a raceway which served as an enclosure for all of the electrical components and wiring. We used the raceway structure to our advantage and created a simple structure and bracket that could be mounted to the building’s canopy.
Keep in mind that internally illuminated signage can provide maximum exposure by drawing attention both day and night. Although the CWE monument sign was not internally illuminated, landscape lighting was used to provide exposure during the evening. There are multiple ways that you can illuminate a sign and CWE showcased two exceptional lighting displays.
