KDHX RADIO

KDHX is an independent, non-commercial, listener-supported community radio station in St. Louis, Missouri.

CLIENT: KDHX

LOCATION: St. Louis, MO

PROJECT SCOPE:

For KDHX, we fabricated a custom neon sign that was flush mounted to the building’s facade. At 45 feet in diameter, we took inspiration from the Sun Theater, a local St. Louis landmark, by reconstructing the orange and yellow neon rays from the theater’s sign. New yellow neon tubes were placed in existing c-channels and repainted. The channel letters were created with open faces that exposed the neon tubing to continue the sign’s overall aesthetic.

On the front of KDHX’s building, we produced a projecting, circular blade sign that also incorporated the open-faced, neon lighting style. We used perforated returns to emulate a soft glow around the circle’s edges. We also fabricated front-lit channel letters and custom vinyl window graphics on the front windows of the building.
